Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on the 30th of January, 1941, in Lincoln Nebraska. At 13 years old, he left the state of Nebraska. old, he emigrated along with his parents into Casper located in western state of Wyoming, where his father was the director of the district for soil conservation in Casper in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
